Crabbie’s Distillery, Leith

CBA were appointed by Halewood international to carry out quantity surveying and contract administrator duties on their new distillery in Leith, Edinburgh.   Works on site came to a temporary halt due to archaeological works that had to be carried out as part of our planning conditions. Works have now resumed, although archaeologists will remain on site throughout the groundworks stages in case something is found.   Some of the archaeological finds included a boulder wall thought to date from medieval times as well as archaeological finds dating back to industrial usage at the turn of the last century including the remains of furnaces and chimneys. Pottery and other artefacts were discovered and it’s hoped these will be displayed in the visitor centre once complete.
